Story behind the song
About 25 years ago, I was playing in a band and we were working on our second album. One of my own songs got dropped from the tracklist, and I was a little frustrated. So I asked if anyone would help me record a few of my songs on the side. Our guitarist and drummer, who already knew the material, immediately said yes. The guitarists girlfriend joined in on vocals, and another friend added piano. In one afternoon and evening during what was supposed to be a break we recorded five tracks together. Among them was a quiet cover of Candle Song by Ugly Kid Joe (written by Whitfield Crane, Dave Fortman, Cordell Crockett, Klaus Eichstadt, Mark Davis, and Roger Lahr).
Now, with the help of todays technology, this intimate recording finds its way into 2025 reimagined as part of my journey
