Every laugh feels like a borrowed line,
Yeah, I wear this mask and it fits just fine,
But when the spotlight fades away,
I'm still searching for any words left in play.
Playing the role in a scene made of dreams,
Dancing through my acts is not as easy as it seems,
With each passing script, I try to be strong,
But deep down inside, I know where I belong.
Oh, the lines we write, they're tangled in our hearts,
Every word a glimpse of the truth in the dark,
And under some courage, I'm feeling a little small,
But I'll keep on acting out, giving it my all.
Playing the role in a scene made of dreams,
Dancing through my acts is not as easy as it seems,
With each passing script, I try to be strong,
But deep down inside, I know where I belong.
As for the nights that I'm pretending to be,
I let the music try and set every teardrop free,
Playing this charade 'til the curtain comes down,
I'll always be thinking about how to be found.
Playing the role in a scene made of dreams,
Dancing through my acts is not as easy as it seems,
With each passing script, I try to be strong,
But deep down inside, I know where I belong.
